Spanish Dance

Educator, Performer, Choreographer, Flamenco Master Artist!!! Fabulous Batista, better known in the dance community as the "Flamenco Queen", will be offering her workshops in Flamenco and Classical Spanish throughout the year rather than regular weekly dance classes.

Batista started her dance career at the age of three at her mother's Academy of Dance in Fribourg, Switzerland. She pursued her dance training in Geneva, the Nederlands, France and Spain, and performed with companies throughout Europe.

Today, Batista is Los Angeles-area based (lucky for us) where her repertoire includes ballet, dance/theater, public television performances, a host of summer concert series, and video productions.

Both as a soloist and with her company, Flamenco Los Angeles, Batista has performed in many hundreds of cultural arts centers, major auditoriums and venues nationwide and internatinally. For over 15 years she has also toured with Lola Montes and her Spanish Dance Company as a soloist, performed for the Los Angeles Opera, the production of Carmen (directed by Placido Domingo), and presents Dance Assemblies throughout Los Angeles County School Districts, the LA County Arts, Arts for All Initiative, and was a member of the LAUSD Arts Community Partnership Network for the last five years where she presented both Spanish and Mexican shows. 

From haughty to folksy to whimsical, Batista's seasonal workshops will bring a wealth of information, inspiration, experience, and timeless dance styles to her students.
